The Startup Diaries: Ice Cream Palooza (7/19/13)
For some glorious reason, ice cream is all over the place in Boston today. Embrace it, get out there, and grab some treats courtesy these guys:
PETA (the animal rights activism group will be at the intersection of Dartmouth and Boylston Streets in Copley Square at starting at 1 p.m. holding signs that say, “SNOW Better Time to Try Vegan” and giving out vegan ice cream.
Hood is taking this heat as an opportunity to introduce their Hood Harvey Bars to Boston. The company hired bowtie-wearing pedicab drivers to hang out in City Hall Plaza to hand out three flavors of the new Harvey Bars - Vanilla, Vanilla Crisp and Cookies n’ Cream. This is happening from now until 3:00 p.m.
For the tech savvy among us, Uber Cab is delivering ice cream all over Boston on this fine day from now until 5:00 p.m. Uber is deploying ice cream trucks on the streets of Boston, making them on demand for Uber users to hail through the app. Users can purchase five ice creams for $30, and earn Uber rewards with the promotion. The best part? It’ll all be charged directly to your Uber account!
